Remember Richard Scarry's books? Here's a side-by-side comparison of the changes made to the covers of Richard Scarry's Best Word Book Ever.
http://www.flickr.com/photos/kokogiak/66087367/in/set-1425737/There are a couple of sensible ones, such as the detail added to the eyes and the more modern stove, but everything else (about 7 changes) are gender-reversals or politically correct corrections. The police officer is changed to a female, the person pushing the carriage is changed to male, a husband is added in the kitchen, a wife is added in the farm. "Fireman" is changed to "fire fighter", "policeman" is changed to "police officer".
You have to love political correctness.

Snort.
You have to love political correctness.
^Or you can hate it with a passion and want to strangle every feminist within a two mile radius. ARGH!
*rolleyes* Too bad when even kids' books are re-done for the sake of political correctness. One comment on that page made me laugh due to its sheer ridiculosity: "Undoubtedly the next edition will replace 'cow' with 'bovine-American'."
^Hahaha!
>> bovine-American
HAR!! LOL, Sarah! That's rich.
Maybe Mom can be replaced with Vertically-Challenged Parent.
And Gracie says Sister can be replaced with Step-Sister
And that Brother can be replaced with Cousin (because it's very untrendy to have more than two children.)
Oh, let's just redo the whole book.
I am not politically correct
I've never considered myself a feminist, but after I got married I realized I had "taken in" a lot of their propaganda without realizing it... wanting to wait at least five years before having any children, not actually wanting children at all... kind of a take it or leave it attitude... I NEVER realized how influenced I was from all of that until coming out from under it. Of course, there would be no Angela, Amber, Autumn and maybe Richard if we would have followed that line of thinking... Praise the Lord my dear hubby felt quite different about this and we attended the IBLP seminar very soon after marriage and we committed then to receive all the children that God would give us! I'm so grateful we did! So I'm not politically correct either and proud of it!
Blessings!
How are your classes going, Brad? Which one is the most interesting?
